This journal is subject to the regulations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) with respect to the ethics laws in the publications and follows the executive regulations of the law on prevention and tackle fraud in scientific researches.

Ethical principles of the journal and instances of misconduct in publishing

 

The ethical policies of this journal are based on the principles of the International Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and observance of the Code of Ethics of the Publications of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, and the Journals of the University of Isfahan are committed to them. In addition, the University of Isfahan Press Office oversees all articles published by the university publications, all of which are required to comply with the ethics of the International Publishing Committee and the university policies in this regard.

Authors, reviewers, editors and  editor-in-chief must comply with these ethical principles when working with this journal.

Duties and responsibilities of publisher, editor-in-chief, editors, reviewers, authors

*Publisher duties and responsibilities

  1. The journal is committed that the decisions made regarding the submitted articles are based only on expert judgments and are far from personal interests.
  2. The journal is committed to protecting academic and research records.
  3. The journal controls the observance of ethical principles by editor-in-chief, editors, editorial board and reviewers.
  4. The journal is constantly investigating articles in terms of plagiarism, fraud and possible misconduct.
  5. The journal will make the necessary amendments, explanations, and retractments when necessary.
  6. The journal will deal with any misconduct if it is proved.

*Duties and responsibilities of editors and scientific editors

  1. The editors of this journal must keep the file of the submitted articles confidential until publication.
  2. Editor-in-chief, editors and reviewers make the decisions regarding the publication or rejection of an article.
  3. The editors of the journal must preserve the principle of the anonymity of reviewers.
  4. The editors of the journal should avoid conflicts of interest.
  5. The editors of the journal are required to observe scientific protection and try to meet the scientific needs of their readers.
  6. The editors of the journal identify plagiarism, fraud and possible fraud and, in case of need of reform, provide explanations, retractments and apologies.
  7. The editors of the journal should focus and limit their minds only on intellectual content.
  8. The editors of the journal shall not disclose the information of articles to persons other than authors, corresponding authors and reviewers.
  9. Unpublished articles file will not be used by editors or other members for personal purposes.

 

*Duties and responsibilities of reviewers

 

  1. Reviewers of the journal should cooperate with editors to decide whether to publish the submitted articles.
  2. Reviewers of the journal should try to keep the files of the submitted articles confidential.
  3. Reviewers shall submit their opinions to editors to make decisions regarding the publication or rejection of the article in due time.
  4. Reviewers' opinions on submitted articles should be technical and specialized.
  5. Reviewers shall not adjudicate articles in which they conflict interests with one of the authors, companies or institutions.
  6. Reviewers shall disclose conflicts of interest.

*Duties and responsibilities of authors

 

  1. The submitted article should not have been published elsewhere (except in the form of abstracts or part of a lecture or dissertation) or is under review by another publication.
  2. The corresponding author shall ensure the consent of other partner authors.
  3. Another responsibility of authors is to ensure and obtain the permission of the founder that the submitted article relates to.
  4. One of the conditions for submitting an article is for authors to allow editing it for more readability.
  5. Authors are expected to briefly express their sponsor for the implementation and preparation of the research process.
  6. The form of moral obligation must be signed by the authors.
  7. In open access publications, authors have the right to own their article, but also allow the public to download, print and distribute it.
  8. All authors of an article must agree that the corresponding author will undertake the next review processes after submitting the article.
  9. When one of the authors of the article sees an important error in their work, they should immediately notify editors of the journal to correct it.
  10. Since plagiarism is one of the serious and immoral errors, all authors should know that articles submitted to this journal are being investigated by plagiarism software.

 *Examples of violations of the ethical principles of publication by authors

 

  1. Plagiarism: Plagiarism means deliberate use of other person's articles or ideas in their own name. Even using another person's sentence or previous sentences without mentioning the source is considered theft.
  2. Data making and distortion: Data making is when the researcher has not done a study in practice but presents data and conclusions. Distortion also occurs when it conducts a research but changes its data and results.
  3. Concurrent submission: when an article is sent to two journals.
  4. Sending replicas: Occurs when two or more articles have the same assumptions, data and results.
  5. Send duplicates (additional): means splitting a study into multiple articles and sending them.
  6. Incorrectly contributing to the other author: All the authors mentioned in the article should be contributed to it.
  7. Resource manipulation: When several references are mentioned in the final part of an article, while they are not mentioned in the content of the article.
